About Me

Picture
As a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist, I bring over fifteen years of dedicated clinical expertise to my practice. My professional foundation began with my education at NYU's School of Social Work and continues through extensive post-graduate training in psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches. This training enables me to bring depth and nuance to the therapeutic relationship, understanding the complexity of human experience. I serve a diverse range of individuals and families with thoughtfulness and understanding.

I am licensed to work with individuals and families across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.

Specialized Training
  • Advanced training in Trauma Studies at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis, focusing on intensive, psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy for adults with significant early-life developmental and interpersonal trauma.
  • Graduate of the White Institute's Eating Disorder, Compulsions, and Addictions (EDCAS) program, which integrates principles of interpersonal psychoanalysis with other treatment modalities to address eating disorders, body image, affect regulation, addiction to substances, relationships, exercise, and other compulsive behaviors.

Continuing Education
I believe that a therapist should never stop learning. I continuously advance my growth and knowledge through additional didactic learning, collaboration with professional peers, and the hope and resilience found in the lives of my patients.
Additional training includes:
  • Mental Health First Aid for the Performance Industry and the Core Curriculum training with the Association of Mental Health Coordinators
  • ACT for Beginners with Russ Harris
  • Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at NYU (PANY)
  • Mentalization-Based Therapy at the Anna Freud Center
  • Parent-Infant Psychotherapy at Columbia University
  • Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder Certification from Postpartum Support International (PSI)
  • Psychoanalytic Fellowship at New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (NYPSI)
I've also attended seminars with distinguished clinicians including Anthony Bateman, Esther Perel, Irwin Yalom, Frank G. Anderson, MD., Beatrice Beebe, Bjorn Salomonsson, Howard Steele, Nancy McWilliams, Frances Sommer Anderson, Elizabeth Howell, Sheldon Itzkowitz, Otto Kernberg, Daniel Shaw, and Dr. Ramani Durvasula.

Professional Affiliations
I proudly serve as Clinical Director of Creatives Care, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting New York City-based artists with affordable, high-quality mental health care. Additionally, I have provided mental health consultation services to New York City's Administration for Children's Services (ACS) and am an active member of the Women's Mental Health Consortium (WMHC).

Leadership in Performing Arts Mental Health
In my role at Creatives Care, I lead discussions exploring the vital intersection of artistic expression, performance, and mental health. My outreach efforts include facilitating conversations at mental health-related film screenings, collaborating with physical therapists at The Harkness Center for Dance Injuries on the connections between mental health, injury, and recovery, and educating psychiatrists on artists' unique mental health needs at the American Psychiatric Association's annual meeting. Most recently, I presented to The Horowitz-Sondheim Fellowship for the Treatment of Theater Artists and other providers at The New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (NYPSI), and on actor mental health and wellbeing for the Performing Arts Medical Association (PAMA).

I am also a member of the Backline mental health referral network, PAMA, and the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS)'s Mental Health in the Dance Community Special Interest Group.

Consultation and Supervision
I enjoy supervising new and experienced therapists working with adults and children, and offer practice building consultation to therapists entering private practice.

I also provide organizational consultation to performing arts institutions, helping them develop mental health infrastructure including crisis protocols, resource guides, and provider networks tailored to their community's needs.

I have recently begun offering consultation services to creative individuals and teams who may need guidance on accurate and sensitive portrayals of mental health and cultural experiences in their work.
